Anybody actually use waterproof MP3s?
I see so many ads for them, SwimOutlet has a huge amount in stock. Does anybody actually use them? Tongue

They seem interesting, but a bit of a distraction if you are trying to get a good workout in.

I've seen them, and we sold quite a few before Christmas at the swim shop I work at. I tried it once. Might not be something that you'd want to wear while doing serious training, but for an off-season workout, a Masters swimmer, or someone just trying to stay in shape, they are pure gold.

I recently came across waterproof MP3s as my friend was using it in one of the swimming competitions. He told me that keeps your mind relaxed. So I am also planning to buy buy soon.

Actually, I find that it helps with a serious workout. If you want to get really into it, you can sorta plan your playlist out to help you keep the correct tempo at each section of your workout, a few warm up songs, then more uptempo for main sets, really fast beat for kicking, etc.

Totally makes my workout. I don't know how I could ever swim without music again.

P.S. Swam with an H2O Audio case for over a year BEFORE I came to work here...so yea, I'm biased, but I'm also competition level swimmer who really loves music....

Glad to see that they have some decent quality music players on the market now. I remember the old school Speedo radio earphones. Terrible reception, and the earbuds would fall out every time you took a stroke.

I use a MP3 player when I swim. It cancels the other noise and lets you enjoy your workout even if you are in a noisy and crowded environment.

Yea I agree stmiyabe. It's very useful when you're swimming in a crowded pool.

I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE my Dolphin! Got it as a gift a couple of years ago and while the wires are a pita when I put the goggles on but once it is in place it's great. Not sure I could have gotten back to mile without it and now I'm spoiled!

Update on my MP3 Player...FINIS SwiMP3 still working great, but the clips broke off (they were designed to clip on to your goggle band) I find that they still fit OK, just slip the ear pieces under your goggle head band.
