I like the middle lanes because there are people near me Smile I don't really like all the yelling Tongue

I love one lane from the edge. Even the edge is alright...

Top seeded is always in the middle so I usually end up there anyways Tongue

But the way I'm improving, I always win my heat anyways >.>
Also people on the edge lanes can get out the fastest when you have to get out from the side Big Smile

Normally 4 or 5 lane is better to choose, because water smoke area is very low comparing with other lanes.

As long as I'm between other swimmers, I'm happy. Why? My goal is to atleast keep up or beat the swimmers next to me.

For competition, I prefer the middle. This is where I get the most encouragement to push harder.

In an 8 lane pool, it's gotta be lane 7. That's the lucky lane. You're close enough to still keep your eye on that #1 seed, you get your confidence up while you're toasting lane 8, and you get all the effect of seeing your teammates and friends cheer you on from the side.

Middle lane for me. It's always a plus when you can see what is around you.
I can never hear the coach or anyone for that matter, no matter what lane I'm in.
