Back in 2003/2004, I did a paper for an English class, on Title IX and my thoughts on it. My conclusion was that the idea was good on paper, but I felt it would fail when applied in the real world. My reasoning behind it was, because like the article said, it was initially made to help get more women's sports. It seemed like it would always over look men's sports. I didn't think that there would come a day when somebody would challenge it for the men's side. I'm interested to see what happens with this case, and to see if our world is ready make sure they don't discriminate against one group of people, just because they're too busy making sure they don't discriminate against someone else.

boseeinstien, that's a very interesting extrapolation, as I'm sure you're referring to race and affirmative action type of stuff.

While I wholeheartedly disagree with affirmative action, the reason why I don't feel it's quite the same situation is because racial minorities are still significant minorities, whereas female college students are almost the same at most schools as male.

But I think male athletes everywhere will be following this case. I mean, regardless of the student body makeup, its hard to convince me that there are more women in this world interested in participating in D-1 athletics than there are men.
