Need help on swimming
Hi i don't do swimming much, and whenever i go i do about 2 strokes and then i give up and use the rail to help me along because my arms begin to ache and i cant cope so i just wait for my friend to finish. I wish i could swim properly since it would be good exercise for me, any tips?
Thanks

RE: Need help on swimming
First, do you take swimming lessons?? If so you can always ask your coaches for help and they should be correcting you anyway.
If you don't take lessons maybe you want to start???
The sign of your arms aching is a good think. It means your working hard, though it should not be happening after a few strokes. I swim 4 times a week for two hours and we swim at least 3 miles. I come cranky hurting and tired, but I know I have just done something really good for my body. Swimming is not an easy sport and it will take time for your muscles to get used to it and eventually the distance you are swimming won't hurt anymore. Then. once that doesn't hurt you try a longer distance. The ache is all part of the swimming. It hurts me too, but I persevere and because my times drop its worth it in the end. I think you should just try to swim more often and it won't hurt as much and you'll find you enjoy it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
