Good morning my fellow fish
Hi Folks,

I just wanted to introduce myself.

After years of lifting weights I feel like I need a change.
Lucky for me my gym just expanded and they have now added a pool.

Although I can swim recreational (usually up to the swim up bar ) I have never looked at learning proper strokes and breathing.

I introduced myself to the new pool at the gym this morning and although I probably resembled a drowning giraffe in the ocean i still had a great time and feel sore already.

During my 2 minute breaks after every lap I watched how smooth and relaxed some of the other swimmers where.

In my quest to become a better swimmer I have stumbled upon this forum.

I hope to learn how swim like a shark and maybe flatten the tummy in the process !

Hi Contact,
I pop in here every now and then and it looks like I get to be the first to give you a howdy.
There's nothing like a bit of 1 on 1 instruction (as i learned last winter) to really find out what you need to focus on so if that's an option I really recommend that. I learned to swim when I was little and the refresher REALLY helped smooth my stroke out.
Best of luck to you man.

Tim
