Yes there are a couple of sets that i have done that are rather brutal, my coach had me do a 2000 fly without breaking stroke during training trip, as a matter of fact I'm starting a website where I put workouts that I have done or devised myself. Another one of my favorites is 111 100's on new years, the last ten are fly the others are whatever you wish.

our coach gives us test sets, such as 8x100 max. 6x200 with 10 seconds rest.

I recently went to some training in a 50m pool with some coaches and swimmers from different clubs and we did
150 free kick-200 free time plus 10 secs
100 freekick-100 free time plus 8 secs with the final lenth controlled not max like the rest
50 free kick-MAX

My coach now does this set with us nearly every session at least twice
