How do I prevent my swimming suit from deteriorating in the the chlorinated water?
I swim competively. I swim in the longer kind of Speedo suit (Jammers) but I would like to know how to prevent it from deteriorating. Every night after swimming practice I always soak it in cold fresh water. But is there any other soulution or advice that you may have? Thanks in advance.

There's little I've found that can help a deteriorating suit other than what you are doing. However, if you switch over to the "Endurance" suits by Speedo you'll find that they last 20x longer. The price is higher than a standard suit but in the long run you'll save money because of how long they last. I've been using mine for about 2 years. Here's a link to them: http://www.swimoutlet.com/product_p/7886.htm

the best way to keep you RACING FABRIC jammers from deteriorating is to keep them in the fridge when you are not using them between swim meets. This will stop the chlorine reacting with the emlastaine fibres within the fabric. You can also train in a chlorine resistant fabric that will last a lot longer.

Hope this helped you

That's a very interesting method. I haven't tried it myself but washing it with cold water thoroughly right after a swim works.
