RE: No rest in training during sets
I say it depends.
If you are preparing for long courses, you should not take any break at all until you finishi what you have to do.
but if not, i don't see any problem.
And also, you don't improve your skills, you just improve your effort ressitance.

RE: No rest in training during sets
If you take rests for more than two minutes, then your muscles will start to get filled up with lactic acid, making it painful for you to workout.

I surely agree with you & the long courses must be insistingly done continuously without any breaks. Thank your for your feedback.

He always advices for our betterment only.

Thank you for sharing such a good information regarding human muscles.
Now I understood why my coach insisted not to take breaks.

RE: No rest in training during sets
In my opinion, I run about :30 between sets just to get an explanation in there for the swimmers. At most, I only go to 1:00 rest between the sets...I don't think it has a lot to do with skill, but it has a lot to do with motivation and consistency to the practice.

thats not good our coach always says if you take a little rest then swim harder when you swim it is better than just swimming straight.

RE: No rest in training during sets
Rest is as important as work.Sometimes you can stop taking rests between sets of stuff, if that is the exercise's goal but otherwise.. just find a new coach. Big Smile
