Question How to improve your grab/track start?
Hi guys,
what you think are the best ways to improve your track/grab starts? Can you recommend some spesific drills to do in the pool and/or in the gym?

I would be thankful to get some ideas. Smile

RE: How to improve your grab/track start?
From my experiences, the more you lean out over the block, the faster your reaction. Though I myself usually do two-foot starts, if I DO do track starts I lean out so that my head is well over the edge of the block. However, I also find that it sorta defeats the purpose of using your arms in the dive as well.

As for drills, I'm not sure if any specific drills exist. I have a rather unorthodox way to practice my starts when I'm not in the pool. I just take a sturdy chair, lean it against a wall and videotape my start positions. Just thought I'd share. Smile
