RE: Swimmer's diet
I can't really say what specific foods because I don't know anything about traditional Indian cuisine Tongue

Make sure to have lots of proteins, carbohydrates, and don't be afraid of fats! Healthy fats are good - just be careful when they come from processed food. As you swim more, you will see that you can eat more and you won't gain any weight: this is good. Lots of smaller snacks, like fruits and nuts, also go a long way.

RE: Swimmer's diet
I try to eat some nuts or peanut butter or something right before I swim. Not too much, or I just feel bleurgh while I'm swimming. But not too little, or I'm liable to eat everything in sight the second I'm done. And then when I get out, I drink a ton of water. I've noticed that I don't tend to feel thirsty after swimming, but I actually am; if I drink a bunch of water right away, it keeps the ravenous hunger at bay so I can eat like a normal person.
