Could London Be A Record Breaker
"Swimming at it’s best! That’s what can be said of Aaron Peirsol, Micheal Phelps, and Kosuke Kitajima; all three have an outstanding chance to make swimming history (again) in London (2012)!

However, it’s not only world records that they may take down and shatter again, but one of them my be the first male swimmer to win the same swimming title at three different Olympic Games. The factors: (1) what each of them will be swimming, (2) the Olympic programme of events, and (3) of course how fast/efficient they are with their specified events."

You do have to remember that with the ban of technical suits, it will be much harder for these swimmers to break the records that were made in those suits.

I don't know if that is going to be true or not; I understand that it definitely provided an advantage to some extent, but there is no "proof" as to how significant the results were...I think that could be a huge topic for discussion.

While I do believe that they definitely help, maybe there is a psychological aspect to wearing those suits as well; If you honestly believe that wearing a specific suit will help you, then it actually will.
